Strategy

You can view or download the EPN Strategy for 2005-2007 from the links below.

This strategy reflects an overall shift in thinking from process to impact-focused activities and networking. Strengthening the Network will lead to the increased involvement and commitment of members. This will further develop the activities of the Network, and as a result increase its impact and sustainability. The progress of strengthening the Network will be measured against compliance with the Network model while impact will be measured against country-relevant goals. Intensification of impact will focus on EPN's core mission – improving standards of pharmaceutical services in church-related health services.

The Network will develop two key programme areas, with the implementation of country-based strategies around access to essential medicines and increasing the role of churches and church health services in HIV/AIDS treatment. Following a mid-term strategy review conducted in mid 2005, the strategy was updated in September 2005 and extended to end in 2007 from 2006. It reflects a slight change in the organization of the programme areas. Initial results of the mid-term review indicate that, while there is still much to be done, the basic strategy needs little adjustment. It required the inclusion of some project activities that have been undertaken but were not considered in the original strategy process. These projects are now described briefly in their relevant programme areas.
