To increase positive health outcomes through church-related pharmaceutical services.

Organizational Purpose
The increased capacity of church-related health services to provide effective and efficient pharmaceutical services.

Organizational Strategic Objectives for 2004–2007

  1. Development of an active network with increased impact.
    • Outcome indicator: Number of members actively involved in and gaining network benefits.
  2. Maximising access to essential medicines for church health services and their clients.
    • Outcome indicator: Evidence that institutions are in the process of implementing one or more Access Guidelines or EPN activities.
    • Outcome indicator: Number of participants showing evidence of change resulting from activities to promote rational use of medicines undertaken with EPN.
    • Outcome indicator: Number of DSOs involved with DSO-specific activities and their perceptions of the impact of involvement.
  3. Increasing the capacity of church leaders and church-related health services to respond to the massive challenge of HIV/AIDS treatment.
    • Outcome indicator: Change in number of people accessing treatment (specifically ARVs/ART) through church health services due to the programme.
    • Outcome indicator: Change in number of churches using ARV-related community treatment literacy materials.
    • Outcome indicator: Impact of access to cost information on ARVs among EPN member organisations.
