INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF CHURCH LEADERS AND CHURCH-RELATED HEALTH SERVICES TO RESPOND TO THE MASSIVE CHALLENGE OF HIV/AIDS TREATMENT
There are two projects in this programme area.
- Increasing response by churches and church health services to ARVs and treatment literacy
Project purpose: The capacity of church leaders and church health services to deal with HIV/AIDS treatment and related organisational management issues is increased in target countries. Project objectives: - Strengthen church leaders' capacity to respond to HIV/AIDS treatment.
- Strengthen church health services' capacity to respond to HIV/AIDS treatment.
- Catalyze change.
- Providing information on factors affecting access to ARVs for CHSs
Project purpose: Church health services equipped to identify and address factors inhibiting their access to ARVs. Project objectives: - Collection and dissemination of information every six months on the prices that church health services and faith-based drug supply organizations are paying for ARVs in developing and newly independent states (NIS) in Africa, Europe, and Asia – with a particular focus on sentinel centres.
- Documentation of increased or decreased access to ARVs for church health services in developing and newly independent state (NIS) in Africa, Europe, and Asia.
