Membership

EPN is an organization made up of member-organizations who are church-related health services and their representatives from USA, Europe, India and most African countries. We also partner with other groups, such as non-governmental organizations, governments, private and public health sectors, faith-based organizations, and inter-government organizations, who work to ensure access to medicines and support the “Health for All” ideal. These include the World Health Organization (WHO), Health Action International (HAI Africa), International Dispensary Association (IDA), Management Sciences for Health (MSH), International Network on Rational Use of Drugs (INRUD), and Mèdecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

How to become a member:

To become a member of the Network, an organization should be a church-related institution working in the health or pharmaceutical fields.

Participation in the Network:

On becoming a member of the Network, the representative of an organization is entitled to active participation in Network activities, namely:

  • Supporting and participating in local and, if possible, international meetings related to Network activities.
  • Regular sharing of information and experiences, e.g., through contributing to the Network newsletters – e-Pharmalink and Pharmalink – and the members’ newsletter – Netlink.
  • Being a catalyst in stimulating active participation and involvement of church health services and NGOs in promoting the Rational Use of Medicines (RUM), the Essential Drugs Concept (EDC) and equity/justice in access to pharmaceuticals.
  • Contributing resources in cash or in kind.

Members’ benefits:

On becoming a member of the Network, members are entitled to certain benefits namely:

  • Having a stronger voice that is more successful in creating policy and practice change at all levels
  • Having a better knowledge of issues and opportunities, resulting in improved decision making
  • Harnessing their joint power and synergy in order to carry out programmes in identified areas
  • Free copies of Pharmalink, e-Pharmalink and Netlink newsletters in English or French.
