e-Pharmalinke-Pharmalink - July 2007This edition includes: HIV/AIDS Cotrimoxazole prophylaxis significantly reduces risk of death during first six months of ART A study conducted in Malawi in over 1,000 patients has shown that when antiretroviral therapy (ART) is administered with cotrimoxazole (CTX) prophylaxis, the risk of death during the first six months of treatment is reduced by 41%.
