Just and compassionate quality pharmaceutical services for ALL

The future of a nation lies in the hands of its children—and the quality of care they receive from their very first breath.”
— Nelson Mandela

EPN has achieved a major milestone in our commitment to improving maternal and newborn health: the successful completion of the Comprehensive Neonatal Care Course training in both Kenya and Nigeria.

This achievement marks a strategic investment under the Gates Foundation-funded project aimed at reducing Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR) across sub-Saharan Africa. Through this initiative, frontline healthcare workers are being equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to provide high-quality, life-saving care to mothers and newborns—especially in the most critical early moments of life.

EPN through its implementing partners, the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK) and the Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN) were honoured to conduct this weeks-long intensive training in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Nigeria, and the Ministry of Health, Kenya, focused on strengthening the capacity of nurses, neonatal nurses, clinical officers, medical officers and pediatricians. The course blended interactive lectures, hands-on clinical simulations, real-world case discussions and practical skill-building grounded in evidence-based protocols. Participants left not only more technically prepared but also deeply inspired to continue their life-saving work with renewed purpose and compassion.

Every newborn represents the hope of a brighter future. By investing in the quality of care at birth, we are investing in that future: one child, one life at a time. Special thanks to our partners and supporters: CHA, CHAN, Hatch Technologies and NEST360global.

Together, we are shaping a future where every mother survives childbirth and every newborn receives the care they truly deserve.
